1. General Provisions and Scope

1.1. Use of the services is subject to these terms and to any specific instructions displayed for a particular service. Please read them before use. Acceptance is requested when registering an account. If you do not agree to the terms applicable to a service, refrain from using it.

1.2. These terms apply on computers, phones, tablets, and other supported devices. Services and options may differ between the website and app and between versions. A service mentioned here is available only if it has actually been made available to users.

1.3. Accepting these terms is not blanket consent to mailing lists, location use, publication of personal information, or any other processing. Separate consents and permissions are handled according to their purpose and applicable law.

1.4. These terms address users of all genders. They do not limit rights that cannot be waived or varied by agreement under applicable law.

2. Content and Editorial Approach

2.1. Mishpatav Lenegdi addresses Torah, halachah, the writings of Maimonides, Jewish thought, research, philosophy, history, and other public topics. It includes articles, sources, books, lessons, video, audio, questions and answers, and study tools.

2.2. The content expresses a particular Torah and research approach and does not claim to represent every view. It may include critical or polemical discussion of books, approaches, customs, authors, and public figures. Publishing a critical position does not authorize harassment, invasion of privacy, or unlawful conduct.

2.3. The Association determines content, editing, and publication arrangements. Content may be updated or changed. Errors, references requiring correction, and outdated links may occur.

3. Website Registration and My Account

3.1. Online registration through the website’s personal area is intended for people who declare that they are at least 18 and provides access to the personal services available there. Younger users can use a local app profile. Provide accurate registration details, use an email address you control, and choose a unique password. Do not impersonate another person or create an account in their name without permission.

3.2. You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect access details and reporting suspected unauthorized use. The Association will not ask for your full password in an email or message. Access recovery uses the tools and verification available in the service.

3.3. Saving content, reading history, and a reading position depends on the relevant feature and selection. Subscriptions to updates and the choice to save reading history are separate from acceptance of these terms; you can register without selecting them.

3.4. A website account does not confer ownership of content or status within the Association. Selecting a support level does not itself require payment. Access may be limited reasonably in response to a breach or security concern, in accordance with law.

3.5. Requests for account closure, access to information, correction, or deletion are handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Instructions are also available on the Account Deletion page. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel a recurring donation.

4. The App and Accounts

4.1. The app includes local content and tools as well as links to online content. Offline availability applies only to content included in the version or saved in a supported way. Videos, web pages, payments, and external files may require internet access.

4.2. Open content is available without an account. Creating an online account requires a declaration that you are at least 18. Gender, birth date, marital status, country, and city are optional and are not registration conditions. A user under 18 uses an encrypted local youth profile only. Adults may use verified email, Google, or Apple accounts and optional phone linking. Their profile, saved items, and progress may be kept in an encrypted cloud copy and appear on another device.

4.3. Keep the local account password and recovery key safe. Losing both may prevent recovery of encrypted information; the Association cannot unlock it remotely. Do not rely on a backup or synchronization service that is not shown as active.

4.4. Deleting a youth profile through Manage Account removes its profile and data from the device. Deleting an online account in the app, after ownership verification and express confirmation, removes the sign-in identity and app data in the cloud and website, followed by the local vault. Full details are on the Account Deletion page.

4.5. Biometrics, location, and notifications depend on your choices, device, and operating-system permissions. Use a copy of the app received through an authorized distribution channel and update it when an appropriate update is offered.

4.6. For adult users only, the website menu and latest-article list refresh on opening after a week has elapsed when a suitable connection is available, or at the user’s request. This refresh updates online content lists and links; it does not automatically install a new app version. Youth Mode blocks online refresh and external links.

5. The Reasoning Quiz

5.1. The quiz is a learning and practice tool. It includes paths, levels, age groups, study or timed modes, feedback, and results according to the options shown. A score or conclusion is not a medical or psychological diagnosis, a certified intelligence test, or a determination of personal or religious status.

5.2. Scoring, time limits, question counts, and ranking eligibility depend on the selected path and its displayed conditions. The question bank and content may change. No fixed number of unique questions, absence of repetition, or complete equivalence between versions is promised.

5.3. On the website, a signed-in user’s results from a ranking-eligible path may appear publicly with the display name and achievement data. Children’s rankings may be grouped by age. Choose a name suitable for publication. Guest access allows practice without association with an account’s leaderboard entry, but may still store attempt data in the service.

5.4. Do not manipulate rankings through impersonation, multiple accounts, modified requests or results, automation, or exploitation of a bug. On a reasonable basis and subject to law, the Association may correct an erroneous result, remove a result obtained in breach of the rules, or adjust a ranking.

5.5. Participation does not entitle you to a prize or payment unless separate conditions were published in advance. No indefinite retention of a ranking or record is promised. Local app quiz data does not automatically synchronize with the website’s rankings.

5.6. In children’s paths, involve a parent or guardian in actions involving an account, personal information, or publication of achievements. Selecting an age group in the quiz is not age verification or parental consent.

6. Moreh HaEmet Q&A and Et Lehashiv

6.1. These sections present questions, answers, arguments, explanations, and sources for study. Searching, filtering, copying, and sharing support access to the content; they do not guarantee that every source, view, or situation appears in the collection.

6.2. General answers depend on the sources and approach presented. Before applying them to a personal situation, investigate relevant circumstances and sources as needed. A response to a personal inquiry is not guaranteed within a fixed time. The service is not an emergency service.

6.3. When sharing or quoting, preserve context and appropriate attribution. Do not edit content to make an author appear to have said something they did not say. Sending a personal question does not, by itself, consent to publication with identifying details.

7. The Siddur, Daily Times, and Reminders

7.1. Prayer books and translations are intended to assist reading and prayer. Wording, translation, layout, and reading position may differ between editions and devices. If a particular text is required, check that it is the one displayed.

7.2. Daily times are calculated using information such as location, time zone, date, and calculation method. Incorrect location, time, daylight-saving settings, travel, or an outdated location may affect the result. Before relying on the times in practice, verify the settings and the suitability of the calculation method.

7.3. The website’s daily-times component uses an external service and may be restricted around Shabbat and holidays according to the local calculation. This does not promise that every website service follows the same opening or closing mechanism.

7.4. App reminders depend on permissions, battery, operating system, and scheduling settings. You may need to reopen the app to refresh reminders, particularly after a change in location or time. Do not use them as the sole means of remembering an important time.

8. Books, Files, Inspiration Treasury, Stickers, and Posters

8.1. The services include books, files for reading and downloading, and material for sharing or printing. Downloading does not transfer copyright ownership. Permitted use follows the authorization attached to the material and applicable law.

8.2. Material expressly marked for free distribution or printing may be distributed under that permission, retaining attribution, source, markings, and included links or QR codes where required. Substantial modification or commercial use requires appropriate permission unless allowed by law.

8.3. You are responsible for choosing printing materials, paying costs, and arranging distribution. Do not attach or place material somewhere without appropriate permission, damage property, or imply sponsorship that was not granted.

8.4. Files and templates, including the ketubah document, require review and adaptation to their intended use. Downloading does not establish that a document is valid or suitable for a particular legal or halachic situation.

9. Donations and Support Levels

9.1. You can support the Association through the channels shown, such as one-time or recurring donations through Nedarim Plus, Bit, or a bank. Check the amount, frequency, recipient details, and payment-method terms before confirming.

9.2. Selecting a support level in My Account or expressing an intention to donate does not create a charge. A charge arises only after completing the appropriate payment process. Labels such as supporter, partner, or pillar describe support levels and do not confer legal membership, ownership, voting rights, or control of the Association.

9.3. For questions about a charge, cancellation requests, corrections, or cancellation of a recurring donation, contact info@m-lenegdi.org and the payment provider as needed. Include the date, amount, and reference without sending full card details. Requests are handled according to law, circumstances, and the payment route. These terms do not restrict statutory cancellation rights.

9.4. Deleting an account, uninstalling the app, or unsubscribing from updates does not instruct the Association to stop a recurring charge. Request cancellation separately and obtain confirmation about further charges.

9.5. Receipts and documents are issued according to law and the donation details. Neither donating nor receiving a receipt establishes eligibility for a tax benefit; check current approvals as needed. A dedication, blessing, or activity in a donor’s merit does not promise a spiritual, personal, or financial outcome.

10. In the Spirit of Maimonides — Matchmaking

10.1. In the app, eligibility checks and requests to join matchmaking are available only through an online account whose user declares that they are at least 18, selects that they are not married, expressly consents, and verifies a phone number by SMS. Revoking phone verification removes access. This is not identity-document verification. Every profile undergoes manual review before publication. The service does not guarantee a match, response time, or successful relationship.

10.2. Provide accurate details, communicate respectfully, and do not supply another person’s details without permission. Information may be disclosed to a prospective match only within the permission given and for the purpose of an introduction. Providing details does not imply consent to open publication.

10.3. An introduction is not confirmation that a person’s identity, background, or personal circumstances have been fully checked. Participants must exercise judgment and verify relevant information before relying on it. The Privacy Policy explains information handling and requests to stop the process.

11. Updates, Messages, and Groups

11.1. Subscribing to updates is a separate choice. Messages follow the subscription’s stated scope and applicable law. Registering an account is not general permission for every mailing. You can request removal using the message’s option or by contacting the Association.

11.2. Stopping content updates does not prevent service messages needed for a request you initiated, account security, or a donation, in accordance with law. Local app reminders are controlled separately.

11.3. Joining a WhatsApp, Telegram, or similar group is also subject to that platform’s and group’s settings and rules. Before joining, check which details other participants will see.

12. Permitted and Prohibited Use

12.1. The services are intended for lawful learning, study, research, viewing, and listening. Do not infringe rights, harass, threaten, impersonate, distribute prohibited content, or unlawfully disclose personal information.

12.2. Do not access an account or system without authorization, bypass security controls, disrupt a service, distribute malicious code, exploit a flaw to modify information, or deliberately overload infrastructure.

12.3. Systematic collection or extensive copying of protected collections, commercial use, or creating the impression that a service is operated on the Association’s behalf requires appropriate permission, subject to uses allowed by law. This restriction is not intended to limit ordinary use of assistive technology for accessibility.

12.4. The Association may proportionately and lawfully restrict infringing activity, remove invalid content or results, and contact a competent authority where justified.

13. Intellectual Property, License, and Sharing

13.1. Rights in original content, articles, explanations, editing, translations, graphics, software, recordings, and original compilations belong to their respective owners under law. The app is provided for personal use within its features and does not transfer ownership of the software or its collections.

13.2. The Association does not claim rights it does not own in public-domain sources or third-party works. Rights may exist in a translation, notes, layout, or original material added to a source. Relevant third-party and open-source licenses apply according to their terms.

13.3. You may link to content and quote it as permitted by law, with appropriate attribution and without misleading others. Full or substantial copying and republication of a protected work requires appropriate permission unless a specific authorization or legal exception applies.

13.4. Express permission to distribute particular material, such as outreach material, applies to that material under its own terms. It does not automatically extend to every item on the website or in the app.

14. Submitting Material and Questions

14.1. You may send comments, sources, corrections, and questions through the channels shown. The sender must ensure that the material may lawfully be provided and does not infringe rights, confidentiality, or privacy.

14.2. A person who expressly requests publication and is authorized to permit it grants a nonexclusive permission to use the material for that request, including technical editing and adaptation for publication. This is not unlimited permission for other uses.

14.3. A private inquiry for clarification or examination does not, by itself, grant a right to publish the material with identifying details. The Association may decline to publish submitted material and may edit or remove material submitted for publication according to permission and law. Statutory response obligations remain unaffected.

15. Reliance on Content and Professional Advice

15.1. Content is intended for study and general information. Before taking action with personal consequences, check sources and circumstances and obtain appropriate advice where needed. Errors or outdated information may occur.

15.2. Health, nutrition, and lifestyle content is not a diagnosis or a substitute for medical examination and treatment. Legal content and documents are not advice for an individual legal matter.

15.3. Capital-market, investment, and financial content is general information and opinion. It is not individualized investment advice or marketing, portfolio management, or a promise of returns. Using the service does not promise a spiritual, medical, legal, financial, or personal outcome.

16. External Services and Links

16.1. The services integrate or link to external sources, video, messaging, file distribution, time calculations, and payments. Use is also subject to those providers’ terms. A link does not necessarily endorse every view or item published by the provider.

16.2. Availability, device compatibility, and accessibility may differ between providers. The Association’s responsibility is determined by law; this clause does not waive a nonwaivable duty. If an external component prevents access to a service from the Association, contact us to discuss an alternative.

17. Privacy, Minors, and Accessibility

17.1. The Privacy Policy describes information collection and retention, user choices, and rights. Avoid providing unnecessary sensitive information or disclosing information about others without permission.

17.2. Torah content, the Siddur, and local quizzes are available to minors. Youth Mode does not offer an online account, location services, external links, private lessons, server notifications, shopping, donations, inquiries, or matchmaking. Parents and guardians should exercise judgment about suitable content and protect local unlock details.

17.3. The Association works to improve accessibility. The Accessibility Statement explains options, limitations, and ways to request assistance. You can contact us without registering or providing details unnecessary to resolve the difficulty.

18. Availability, Updates, and Service Changes

18.1. Interruptions, maintenance, content changes, communication failures, and provider disruptions may occur. Continuous availability, compatibility with every device, or indefinite retention of a link, file, ranking, or feature is not promised.

18.2. The Association may change or discontinue a service, subject to law, applicable commitments, and appropriate notice where required. A service change does not permit new uses of personal information contrary to the policy or law.

18.3. A website update does not automatically update a local app copy or a downloaded file. Check the version and content-update date when they matter to your use.

19. Liability

19.1. Users must exercise judgment appropriate to the service and its settings. A warning about content limitations does not remove liability the Association has under applicable law.

19.2. To the extent permitted by law, the Association and those acting on its behalf are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damage arising from reliance on general content, unavailability, or an external service outside their control. The application of this limitation depends on the circumstances and law.

19.3. No provision waives a liability or duty that cannot be waived, or restricts rights under privacy, accessibility, consumer-protection, or other mandatory laws where they apply.

20. Corrections, Complaints, and Removal Requests

20.1. To report an error, incorrect source, copyright infringement, privacy violation, incorrect quiz result, or another difficulty, contact info@m-lenegdi.org. Include a link or screen name, an accurate description, and relevant documents without exposing unnecessary information.

20.2. The Association will examine the inquiry and may request clarification or correct, remove, or take another action according to the findings and law. Receipt of an inquiry is not an admission of its allegations and does not reduce the Association’s handling or response obligations.

21. Changes to These Terms

21.1. These terms may change in response to changes in the service, the Association’s activities, or law. The update date appears at the top. Material changes will be communicated appropriately, and additional consent will be requested where required.

21.2. An update does not retroactively diminish an accrued right or replace separate consent required for information use. A specific condition expressly shown for a particular service applies to that service, subject to law.

22. Applicable Law and Disputes

22.1. Israeli law governs the services and these terms, subject to mandatory provisions applicable to the case. Jurisdiction is determined by the jurisdictional rules established by law.

22.2. You may contact the Association to seek a good-faith resolution of a dispute. Doing so is not a prerequisite to exercising a right or approaching a competent court or authority.

22.3. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Nonenforcement in a particular case is not a general waiver of a right.

23. Contact

23.1. Mishpatav Lenegdi Association, Registered Association No. 580648681. Email: info@m-lenegdi.org. Phone: 055-688-1423. To help us respond, indicate whether your inquiry concerns the website, app, account, quiz, donation, or another service.

Team Management and Profile Review

Participants enter a birth date and declare that they are at least 18. An authorized reviewer manually checks the declared age, participation conditions, and content before approving publication. If age or details are uncertain, the profile remains pending until clarified. This process relies on a declaration and manual review, not automatic age verification.

Authorized managers can find a verified account using its complete email address and grant, change, or revoke manager or editor permissions within the matchmaking section. An explicit permission in that section takes precedence over a permission inherited from the app. Team lists are not stored for offline use or transferred to watches. Revoking a team permission does not delete the account or its permissions in other sections.

Body Care and Introductions for Marriage

Movement and hydration information is general information with sources, not an individual medical plan. Reminder times depend on permissions and the operating system. There is no medical measurement or commitment to delivery at an exact time.

Matchmaking has separate eligibility conditions: age 18 or over; single, divorced, or widowed status; accurate details; a separate declaration; and an introduction intended for marriage. Married and separated people cannot participate in introductions. A verified manager or editor may access management tools even when marked as married. Do not upload photographs, intimate information, identifying details about children, or contact details in free text. Harassment, impersonation, and disclosure of another person’s details without permission are prohibited. Blocking and reporting are available within the section.

Phone verification does not verify age, identity, or marital status. Profile approval does not guarantee suitability. A number disclosed after mutual consent is intended only for an introduction between those two participants. Participation and future permissions can be revoked, but information already disclosed cannot be retrieved.

Watches and Shabbat Mode

Watch features are intended for Apple Watch running watchOS and Wear OS watches supported by this version. Support for every proprietary operating system or watch model is not guaranteed. The reading position is saved on the watch and does not mark completion on the phone.

Shabbat Mode displays a screen inside the app. It is not a system lock, does not replace the main watch face, and does not disable hardware buttons, system gestures, dimming, or app suspension. Check the gesture settings and actual device before use. On supported Apple Watch models, Wrist Flick can be disabled in gesture settings. An operating-system action may hide the screen even while the mode remains enabled.

The time Shabbat ends comes from the phone and uses the calculation method displayed in the app: Saturday sunset plus 30 minutes. The location and date are shown; missing or expired information is marked as unavailable. A separate explanation is shown when a festival continues after Shabbat. Scheduling starts at sunset and operates while the app is displayed or opened within the time window; the mode does not end automatically.

Delivery of notifications and images depends on permissions, connectivity, and the operating system. A notification does not mark prayer or study as completed. Refresh schedules on the phone. Enabling Shabbat Mode in the app does not necessarily silence notifications from the system or other apps.

Interface Languages and Content Translation — Build 136

The app includes Hebrew, English and Russian interfaces. Changing the interface language does not alter the wording of books, prayers, articles, or sources, or change consents or permissions already given. Policy documents in the app are available in all three languages; you can switch document language using the link shown in the document.

Automatic content translation, if selected, is an aid to understanding and may contain errors or omissions. It does not replace the source text or provide an authoritative interpretation of halachic, legal, or professional meaning. Language and model availability depends on the translation engine and device. If you find a difference between policy versions, contact the Association for clarification and correction.

The Hebrew and English Siddur editions are selected separately from the interface language. The same choice is available at the top of the Siddur and in Appearance settings. Each edition retains its own text and controls; selecting a Russian interface does not create a Russian translation of the Siddur.
